The ASUS ROG Strix B850-G Gaming WiFi is a white micro-ATX motherboard based on the AMD B850 chipset and AM5 socket. It supports AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 Series desktop processors. Four DDR5 DIMM slots provide dual-channel memory support up to 256GB, with speeds up to 8000+MT/s (OC) under supported CPU, BIOS and memory configurations. AMD EXPO and ASUS AEMP profiles are included for compatible memory kits.

The primary expansion slot supports PCIe 5.0 x16 with Ryzen 9000 and 7000 Series processors. Ryzen 8000 Series configurations use CPU-dependent PCIe 4.0 x8 or x4 operation. Four M.2 slots provide one PCIe 5.0 x4 connection on supported Ryzen 9000 and 7000 Series CPUs plus three PCIe 4.0 connections, including one slot on the underside of the board. Two SATA 6Gb/s ports support additional storage devices.

Connectivity includes Intel 2.5Gb Ethernet, 2x2 WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The rear panel carries ten USB ports, including USB 20Gbps Type-C, USB 10Gbps Type-A and Type-C, USB 5Gbps Type-A and USB 2.0. DisplayPort and HDMI outputs are available, with display capability dependent on the installed processor. Realtek ALC1220P 7.1-channel audio is paired with a Savitech amplifier and optical S/PDIF output.

Cooling connections include CPU, CPU optional, AIO pump and three chassis-fan headers. The board also provides three Addressable Gen 2 RGB headers, BIOS FlashBack, Clear CMOS and a pre-mounted I/O shield. Its 24.4cm × 24.4cm micro-ATX size requires a case that supports micro-ATX motherboards.
