The ASUS B650E MAX Gaming WiFi is an ATX motherboard built around the AMD B650 chipset and AM5 socket. ASUS lists compatibility with AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 Series desktop processors, with support for CPUs rated up to 170W. Four DDR5 DIMM slots support up to 256GB in dual-channel mode. With Ryzen 9000 and 7000 Series processors, the primary slot supports PCIe 5.0 x16 operation. Ryzen 8000 Series processors use CPU-dependent PCIe 4.0 x8 or x4 operation. Additional chipset slots include one PCIe 4.0 x16-size slot operating at x4 and two PCIe 3.0 x16-size slots operating at x1. The PCIe 3.0 slots share bandwidth with SATA6G_1 and SATA6G_2. Storage includes three M.2 slots, including PCIe 5.0 x4 support on a compatible CPU, plus four SATA 6Gb/s ports.

Network connectivity combines Realtek 2.5Gb Ethernet, 2x2 WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
